Grinnell Brothers Piano History
Grinnell Brothers Piano Serial Number
The Grinnell Brothers piano manufacturing company was established in Detroit, Michigan in 1882, first making organs and then expanding to make pianos in 1902. You may find many Grinnell pianos in Michigan and the Midwest due to the success of their upright piano lines. The company weathered the financial hardships of the 1930's and survived until the 1970's when the company slowed production and finally declared bankruptcy in 1981. In 1995 there was a brief time where pianos were made with the Grinnell Bros name by the Samick Corporation in Korea.
